The Rise and Fall of BitBoy
Ben Armstrong built one of crypto's biggest YouTube channels, bought the Lambo, and then lost the brand, the car, and a $2.8M defamation case. Here's how it went.

He bought the Lambo. Then he lost the Lambo. Then it got worse.
Ben Armstrong, the face of BitBoy Crypto, was once one of the loudest voices in crypto YouTube. A thread from @StarPlatinum_ brought his story back around today, so here's the actual record.
The Peak
At its height, BitBoy Crypto had about 1.5 million subscribers, according to The New York Times. Armstrong has said he held around $40 million in crypto at the peak, though the Times notes most of it technically sat with his company, BJ Investment Holdings, the parent of Hit Network.
In fall 2021 a dealer shipped a Lamborghini Huracán Performante to his Atlanta-area studio.
There were warning signs. In 2022 he sued YouTuber Atozy for defamation over a video accusing him of shilling failed coins. Crypto trader Jordan "Cobie" Fish donated $100,000 toward Atozy's defense (The Block), and Armstrong dropped the suit on August 24, 2022.
The Fall
- Aug 28, 2023: Hit Network's parent company removes Armstrong from the BitBoy Crypto brand, citing "emotional, physical and financial damage" to employees. The Block reported the company cited his "relapse into substance abuse."
- Sep 25, 2023: He livestreams outside the Georgia home of ex-partner Carlos Diaz, saying Diaz has his Lamborghini. Gwinnett County police arrest him on loitering/prowling and simple assault charges. Bond: $2,600.
- Oct 2023 to Feb 2024: His wife files for divorce, and the NYT says he has lost his company and much of his wealth. "I'm going through a midlife crisis," he says. "A spiritual crisis."
- Mar 25, 2025: He is arrested in Volusia County, Florida, on a Georgia fugitive warrant. He had already said on X that the warrants were over emails he sent a Cobb County judge while acting as his own lawyer.
- Mar 2025: He accuses Kevin O'Leary of murder over a 2019 boating accident in a string of X posts and shares O'Leary's phone number.
- Jun 2025: He is arrested in Cherokee County, Georgia, on six counts of harassing phone calls.
- Feb 2026: Judge Beth Bloom enters a $2.8M default judgment for O'Leary. Armstrong never responded and never appeared in court.
Where he is now
In January 2026 he tried to vacate the O'Leary judgment, arguing incarceration and mental health conditions kept him from defending the case; the court rejected it. The Block reports he faces two felony counts in the Georgia judge-emails case and was close to insolvent in late 2025. Charges are allegations, and we found no reporting of a conviction.
From 1.5M subscribers and a Huracán to a default judgment he didn't show up to fight. Crypto runs in cycles. Do people?
Could BitBoy ever make a comeback, or is the brand dead for good?
